The Caged Bird’s Broken Wings - #4

One day, Sweet Bird got the courage to open the door.

Terrified, but knowing outside the cage there was so much more.

Sweet Bird began to fly unaware of her broken wings.

Her positivity blinding her from all the pain the cage brings.

She lies to herself saying she is healed and whole.

The new peace and joy being all she wants to know.

Her heart and mind feel strong, but her wings are so very weak.

Joy, happiness, the next best thing is all she wants to seek.

Why accept her brokenness when she is finally feeling free?

But living in denial will only put her back into her own captivity.

She lands on a branch and a small tear falls down her sad face.

Feeling the depth of her wounds and the significance of this place.

God, I don’t want to feel the pain! Why can’t I just be free!?

Oh Sweet Bird, that’s why I brought you to this healing tree.

You are free from the source, but the pain still grips you tight.

I need you to take a journey with me before your next flight.

Sweet Bird, admitting the brokenness is what makes you strong.

Strength is allowing me to heal you and give you a new song.

I’m proud of you, Sweet Bird, for trusting this process with me.

You are about to experience what it is like to truly be free!
