I am the Shore

I am the shore, laying bare for all to know

the waves of life revealing more of me as they come and go

Each wave washing over me and pulling back layers as it fades away

but never taking all of me for the strong shore will remain each day

As I stand and the ebb and flow of waves come to me

I have a powerful choice in how and what I see

I can see the loss and destruction

or the growth and instruction

I can see the danger and fear

or the pure beauty as it comes near

I can see the challenge and pain

or all that there is to gain

I am the shore laying bare for all to know
